Kelly Clarkson reveals her kids’ picky eating habits and admits she has to sneak vegetables into her son’s meals: ‘He will smell it out’

Kelly Clarkson welcomed Chrissy Teigen, 38, and Chef David Chang on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday.

The pair are promoting their new show Chrissy and Dave Dine Out and the three parents bonded over their children’s picky eating habits, with Chrissy revealing last week that her son Miles, 5, has never eaten a vegetable.

Even the noted restauranteur, 46, admitted his kids are picky about what he cooks, prompting the Since U Been Gone singer, 41, to breathe a sigh of relief.

‘That actually makes me feel good,’ she admitted.

‘When I do cook, I’m like, “Do you know how hard this was for me? I don’t do this.” And I feel like I did a good job and they do not eat it,’ she said about her kids — daughter River Rose, nine, and son Remington Alexander, seven — whom she shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

‘It makes me feel good that you are an actual chef. They are just like, “Hard pass, where’s the mac and cheese?”’ she continued.

Chrissy told Clarkson and Chang more about her son Miles’ pickiness saying she takes orders much like a short order cook.

‘At this point with Miles, I said the other day, he doesn’t eat vegetables. I mean not a carrot stick. It’s just like a big fight with him.’

Clarkson commiserated and revealed the sneaky ways she tries to get vegetables into her son’s diet.

‘I have to sneak it in, into a cup that is colorful, that you can’t tell what the color is,’ Clarkson explained.

‘And that’s how I sneak it in — in like a juice or a smoothie. He will not do it. He will smell it out and be like, “This is a vegetable.” And he is like hard against it.’

And the Stronger singer even admitted that she’s sent Remington to bed hungry.

Teigen understood and reiterated that she waits on Miles hand and foot to get him to eat.

At least in Teigen’s case, her daughter Luna, seven, is a good eater.

‘Luna is amazing, she eats salads, vegetables,’ she said last week on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

And Luna, who is the oldest of her parents’ four children also acts as a big sister to Chang’s sons.
