Selena Gomez takes a swipe at famous exes in new song Single Soon

SELENA GOMEZ’s turbulent love life has been channelled into her new tune, in which she admits she is “high maintenance”.

I revealed last week that she was on the cusp of making her comeback with the track Single Soon – and now I can reveal what it is about.

The US singer, who counts Justin Bieber, The Weeknd and Zayn Malik among her former flames, also confesses to leaving notes in guys’ coat pockets before ditching them.

Selena sings: “Should I do it on the phone? Should I leave a little note in the pocket of his coat? Maybe I’ll just disappear. I don’t want to see a tear. And the weekend’s almost here”.

She adds: “I know I’m a little high maintenance, but I’m worth a try.

Might not give a reason why. We both had a lot of fun, time to find another one. Blame it all on feeling young.”

Single Soon will be the lead song to her as-yet-untitled album, her first since 2020’s Rare, which reached No2.

Selena said: “Y’all have been asking for new music for a while. I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer.”

Selena isn’t the only person with new music coming out tomorrow.

Fellow former Disney star Miley Cyrus will drop her song Used To Be Young, while Ariana Grande is putting out a deluxe edition of her debut album Yours Truly to mark its tenth anniversary.

JOIN TOGETHER IN HARMONY?

FIFTH Harmony’s Dinah Jane wants the group to reunite, five years after they announced an indefinite hiatus.

The band, which also featured Normani, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke and Camila Cabello, until she left in 2016, had hits including Work From Home and Sledgehammer between 2012 and 2018.

But so far only Camila has forged a successful solo career.

Dinah said: “Whenever they’re ready, that door is open for us.”

LEIGH-ANNE GOES GRAY

LEIGH-ANNE Pinnock has changed her surname to Gray after marrying footballer Andre.

But the ex-Little Mix singer, who wore this yellow dress to perform a mini gig for Capital Radio on Tuesday, is keeping it out of her day job.

She wants to be known only as Leigh-Anne when it comes to her music, to avoid a name debacle like Cheryl.

The Girls Aloud star was originally known as Cheryl Tweedy, then Cheryl Cole and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini but now just wants to be known by her first name.

Leigh-Anne, who married former Watford striker Andre in June, has formally changed her surname on government records, including paperwork filed at Companies House.

But she has learned from Cheryl’s mistakes and is going only by her first name, in case things do head south later on.

A source said: “She wanted to take Andre’s surname but people in her team suggested it was safer to keep that as a private thing and just be known as Leigh-Anne when she’s a pop star.

“People will probably just carry on referring to her as Leigh-Anne Pinnock but in the eyes of the law, she is now Leigh-Anne Gray.”

She will release a song next month called My Love, which features the Nigerian singer Ayra Starr.

Her debut solo single Don’t Say Love hasn’t stuck around, so I hope this one does a bit better.

LIZZO TO HIT BACK

LIZZO is planning to sue the three dancers who launched a sexual harassment lawsuit against her.

She is pictured for the first time since the case was filed last month, as she threw herself back into work at a music studio in LA.

Now her attorney, Marty Singer, says they have “substantial evidence” which “proves the glaring contradictions between what the plaintiffs claim in their bogus lawsuit and what is actually proven facts”.

Marty added that Lizzo intends to sue for malicious prosecution once she wins the dancers’ lawsuit.

In the meantime, it looks like she will be channelling her anger into some new music.

BLUNT SPRINGS INTO ACTION

JAMES Blunt will go on a nationwide tour next spring to celebrate his upcoming album Who We Used To Be.

He has announced 12 concerts, starting in Leeds on March 30 and ending in Bournemouth on April 14, with tickets on sale next Friday.

James said: “My new album was incredibly fun to write and record, and some of the new songs will undoubtedly get you up on your feet and dancing again. I’m looking forward to crowd surfing at a venue near you.”

PROUD Cabaret on The Embankment in London is hosting its latest show All Stars Tropicana, inspired by the Barbie movie.
It includes real-life Kens, burlesque beauties and aerial performers. The show will end on November 17.
