Selena Gomez’s boyfriend Benny Blanco has gushed over the ‘super hot’ star – coyly branding her ‘perfect’.

In a cookery video shared with his 1.1million Instagram followers, the record producer, 35, rustled up some crab cakes from his new cookery book Open Wide alongside friend and chef Olivia Tiedemann.

During their cookery session, while the duo giggled and larked around, Olivia made a comment saying: ‘We’ve all heard the news you have a super hot girlfriend’, to which Benny replied: ‘We’re not talking about that’, before professing: ‘She’s perfect!’

Olivia then admitted that she was ‘a big stan’ of the couple, who went public earlier this month after six months of dating – leading to backlash against her new love, after Selena branded him: ‘My absolute everything’.

In the playful video, which Benny branded ‘unhinged’, the duo were seen boiling fresh crab, adding Ritz crackers to the mix and placing butter on top.

Just days before his comments, Selena was forced to furiously defend her new man when fans were quick to remind her that he’s ‘shaded’ her in the past

Things quickly got heated between her and her fans in the comment section as they accused Benny of ‘not treating [her] well’ and disrespecting her in the past.

They were particularly angered by a resurfaced interview where Benny appeared to call her a ‘cookie-cutter pop artist’ while praising her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

‘Like you know, they’re like, ‘this is my new single and here’s my makeup line,’ he told podcast host Zach Sang in 2020.

Though that could easily be a jab at Gomez — who owns the make-up brand Rare Beauty —she appears unbothered.

As one fan slammed her as ‘corny’ for sticking by him despite the shade, Gomez replied: ‘Lol yeah and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with. Facts’.
