When did Johnny Depp become the face of Dior Sauvage?

Johnny Depp and Dior first teamed up in 2015 for the launch of their then-new brand Sauvage.

It was Dior’s first new cologne in 10 years.

Depp was chosen as the fragrance’s muse, because of his “singularly authentic allure, tattooed arms and rock-jewellery-covered hands,” the brand said in Dior Mag.

The photos from the campaign depict the Wild West and scenes from a desert.

The agency said: “The enthralling brand film sees the new brand ambassador, Hollywood hero Johnny Depp, embrace a dramatic and mysterious look as he escapes the city to bury his jewellery in the desert.

“The creative perfectly achieves the balance of raw wildness with masculine sophistication that the fragrance emulates.”

Dior has stood by Depp since his legal battles involving his ex-wife, Amber Heard, emerged.

It seems to have been a smart move as reports say that sales of the cologne have gone up.

The brand though does not appear to have made any public statements.

A Daily Mail article quotes a source close to the actor saying that he is contemplating extending the relationship with his sponsor.

The source is quoted as saying: “In fact, sales are up and Dior has no plans to quit.

“Many fans are going out to buy the new cologne to show their support.”

The source added: that Johnny had “enjoyed a professional relationship with Dior since 2015”.

Did Johnny win the defamation trial between him and Amber Heard?

Depp’s defamation case against Heard finally made it to court in April 2022, and after several weeks, a verdict was reached.

After 13 hours of jury deliberations, Depp was awarded $15million in compensatory damages and punitive damages, while Heard was awarded $2million in compensatory damages, according to ABC News.

Depp had originally sued Heard in relation to a 2018 op-ed article titled: “I spoke up against s*xual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”

The article does not mention Depp by name, yet his lawyers said it falsely implies he physically and s*xually abused Heard while they were together.

He was seeking $50million in damages while Heard had countersued for $100million.
