Johnny Depp paid tribute to his late friend Jeff Beck on what would have been the musician’s 79th birthday. The 60-year-old actor shared a photo on Instagram of himself and Beck working on a car engine. In the caption, Depp wrote, “Happy birthday my dearest brother Jeff. You are with me always. You are everything!!! Your fellow giant toddler…eternal love and worship.” Beck, a British guitarist known for being part of The Yardbirds band, passed away suddenly in January from bacterial meningitis.

During a concert in Paris, Depp, who is currently on tour with his band The Hollywood Vampires, honored Beck by explaining the significance of a white Stratocaster guitar on stage. He introduced it as “one of his friends” and offered it to his bandmate Joe Perry for a heartfelt performance.
