Losing in the NCAA Tournament and being sent home is one thing, but three players on the squad being in trouble less than a week after is quite troubling.

According to a College Station Police arrest record, three Texas A&M women’s basketball players were taken into custody on Wednesday night after midnight after they were discovered intoxicated outside of an apartment building in College Station.

Calls were made about several individuals in a car outside the Holleman Crossing Apartments in College Station playing loud music and smoking marijuana. Officers approached the vehicle and immediately smelled marijuana.

The officer found Kayla Green, Kyndall Hunter, and Maliyah Johnson high as a kite in the vehicle.

KagsTV reported that Johnson and Hunter were charged with possession of marijuana in a quantity less than two ounces, which is a class misdemeanor while Green was charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2 in a quantity less than one gram and possession of marijuana in a quantity less than two ounces.

In the end, all three of the NCAA college players would be booked into the Brazos County Jail on Wednesday, and have since been released from jail on bond.

Johnson and Hunter’s bonds were $2,000, while Green’s bonds totaled $7,000.

The Huskers led by as many as 17 points and had to hold off a late comeback to pull off this victory. It was Texas A&M’s first trip to the NCAA tournament since 2021 when the team advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third straight season.
