Tristan Thompson is now taking care of his 17-year-old brother Amari Thompson after the sudden death of their mother Andrea who passed away in January. Thompson wants everything to be official so he filed for official guardianship of his brother.

The document filed states that Tristan and Amari’s father Trevor Thompson has not been present in Amari’s life and the Lakers player is the closest family member who can take care of him.

Amari has special needs due to health conditions and is not able to take care of himself, which is why Tristan will take over his daily needs while also paying a close eye on his health and keeping up with his doctor’s appointments and therapies if he needs them.

After Thompson’s mother passed away, Amari is entitled to receive a bit more than $100K in inheritance, which will also be responsible for protecting the amount from loss and injury.

As many know, Khloé Kardashian and her family quickly flew to Canada as soon as they found out about Andrea Thompson’s health complications and were with the NBA star offering moral support to the Thompson family along with other Kardashians who attended the funeral of Mrs. Thompson.
