Heat announces Haslem’s jersey retirement

He said, “It’s about a great legacy, a thank-you moment that has been earned over 20 years of being an incredible championship player and most importantly, the best leader. He’s going to have his day and I can’t wait to see his jersey hang in the rafters.” Even former teammate, Dwayne Wade, couldn’t hold his excitement. He posted a story on his Instagram handle, with the captions, “Can’t Wait”.

During his illustrious NBA career, Haslem has recorded 6,586 points, 733 assists and 5,791 rebounds in 879 games for the Heat. Even after his playing days were well and truly behind him, Pat Riley kept him on the roster because of his impact and leadership he provided to the team.
