The 25th of December is finally here, and people around the world are preparing to get busy in this festive occasion. At the same time, NBA fans are gearing up for the upcoming game that will take place between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. Since the occasion marks NBA star LeBron James’ 18th Christmas game, fans are reminiscing on some of the previous games the player was a part of. And they are not the only ones.

A few hours ago, Dwyane Wade took to his official Instagram account to share a story with his 20.3 million followers. The Flash highlighted a recent reel from the official Instagram account of the NBA, which featured two throwback clips from a previous Christmas Game. It took place when both LeBron James and Wade were a part of the Miami Heat and were going head-to-head against the Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles Lakers.

The first clip featured Wade making a no-look pass to power forward James, who then proceeded to take a big leap and dunk the ball through the hoop. The second clip featured James making a similar move. Only this time, however, Wade passed the ball to LeBron James by making use of an ‘Off-the-glass’ maneuver.  By placing a poll beside the clip, the reel asked the fans to state their favorite X-mas dunk moment.

Reminiscing on that decade old game, Wade captioned the reel on his story by writing “It’s that time of the year again”. It goes on to show that even with the holiday spirit on his mind, Wade couldn’t help but remember that awestruck moment of which he was a part of. His former teammate, LeBron is about to play his 18th Christmas game in the NBA. The late Kobe Bryant featured in 16 of them.

Notably, James has the potential to break another historic record that is held by D-Wade himself. The Flash has 11 Christmas wins under his belt. With a win against the Celtics today, LeBron could secure his 12th Xmas victory and the record for himself.

Dwyane Wade and LeBron James were teammates for over 4 NBA seasons. Alongside 11x All-Star Chris Bosh, the Heat stars would go on to build a professional partnership that continues that became the envy of various basketball players.

Both Wade and LeBron helped usher in the golden era of Miami by leading and allowing the team to reach four consecutive NBA Finals. At the same time, their combined leadership helped the Heat win two back to back championships.

One of the most iconic moments that took place between the two players occurred during the Heat’s 2010 clash against the Milwaukee Bucks. During the game, Wade secured a defensive rebound before pushing the ball up the floor. After realizing that LeBron James was running right alongside him, Wade made a pass that allowed the king to grab the ball and dunk it through the hoop.
