Nicole Kidman is leading the charge when it comes to a new trend in Sydney real estate.

Many of the Harbour city’s elite, including celebrities and CEOs, are splashing out big money on smaller homes.

In May it was reported that the homegrown Hollywood superstar, 56, bought her sixth apartment in the flashy Landmark Latitude complex in Milsons Point, on the North Shore.

The Big Little Lies star paid an eye-watering $7.7million dollars for the chic three-bedder, which offers a commanding view of Sydney Harbour.

Kidman and husband Keith Urban, who own property in different company names, brought their tally in the building to $27.5million with the purchase.

The A-listers’ penthouse apartment in the complex is now the highest sold unit in the tower.

Meanwhile, 5kms further up the coast at Mosman, every flat within a new development was snapped up off the plan in just two hours in May.

Dubbed ‘Reverie’ and constructed by Helm, the block, built overlooking Allan Border Oval, will feature 20 luxury unit when it is completed in 2025.

The penthouse atop the complex, meanwhile, fetched $15million, setting a record sales price in the suburb reported The Mosman Daily on Monday.

Buyers splurged up to $10.5million for a three-bedroom apartment in the block, while two-bedroom flats went under the hammer for a reported $4million.

Features include timber flooring, and marble benches, while select apartments boast a wet bar.

Ex-Qantas boss Alan Joyce and husband Shane Lloyd, meanwhile, scored the biggest sales price in the neighbourhood.

The couple, who never actually lived in their Mosman Federation-era mansion, sold off the sprawling pad for a rumoured $21million.

Bought last year for $19million, the glorious sandstone pile features a pool, harbour views and four-bedrooms.

Another North Shore record was smashed this year, reports The Mosman Daily, when George Michael’s beach retreat went off for $13.5million.
