Jason Richardson was one of the biggest stars in the NBA during the 2000s era. He ranked as one of the top guards in the league and posed a great challenge to many of his opponents. During his 14-season stint in the league, he racked up a couple of accolades which included two NBA Slam Dunk Contest titles and an All-Rookie First Team selection in 2002. Unfortunately, injuries became a major concern which caused him to retire in 2015.

The former NBA player competed alongside a couple of teams. He played for the Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, and Philadelphia 76ers. Richardson averaged 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3 assists per game through 14 seasons. Besides his interesting on-court life, the former Warriors star was once involved in a scandal that allegedly led to the downfall of Steve Nash and Alejandra Amarilla’s marriage.

Jason Richardson played alongside a couple of top-tier athletes, but the biggest name was probably Nash. They played together for two and a half seasons before the Suns unexpectedly shipped him to Orlando. This was around the same time Nash and his ex-wife began having troubles. And it all started when the ex-couple welcomed their son Matteo into the world.

There were rumors about their son being born black, however, recent images have shown no such indicators. However, the main reason why fans suspected that Amarilla had an affair with Jason was because he was traded to Orlando at the time of Matteo’s birth. There were also rumors about Nash and Amarilla having marital issues as well. Richardson ended up marrying his wife, Jackie Paul a year later in 2011.

Amidst all the rumors that flooded the newsstands, Jason Richardson was already in a relationship with Paul for a long time. The rumors of him having an affair with Amarilla came out in 2010. However, there is no proper evidence to prove or stand by the claims fans have made over the years either. Richardson and Paul had a private wedding ceremony that only included close friends and family.

Jason and Jackie are still together. They are very supportive of each other and have been that way ever since they began dating as well. The couple shares three children, two sons, and one daughter. One of Jason’s sons, Jase, also committed to Michigan State in 2023. Jase has been following his father’s footsteps and is slowly experiencing success.
