DOWN TO THE WIRE
The Warriors took their largest lead of the game (11 points) in the fourth quarter but a 10-0 Pistons run cut the lead to one with 4:20 remaining. A 3-pointer by Bojan Bogdanovic extended Detroit’s run to 19-7 and gave them their first lead since the first quarter.

CURRY THE CLOSER
After the Pistons took the lead in the fourth quarter, Stephen Curry went on a personal 9-0 run to help the Warriors seal the game. Curry hit back-to-back lethal stepback splashes to extend his rank atop the NBA in ‘clutch time’ points, field goals and 3-pointers.

Jonathan Kuminga donned a new look with his shaved haircut but came with the same consistent production on Friday. Kuminga scored 11 points in the first half, clinching his 15th consecutive game in double figures.

Dario Šarić (12) and Trayce Jackson-Davis (8) combined to score 20 of the Warriors’ 21 bench points in the first half. Saric’s 12 points and five made field goals led all scorers and Jackson-Davis was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, including finishing an alley-oop off the backboard.

Šarić finished as the Warriors’ leading scorer off the bench with 17 points and three 3-pointers, while Jackson-Davis nearly had a double-double (11 points, 9 rebounds).

Chris Paul injured his left hand in the third quarter of Friday’s contest, going for his own offensive rebounding and colliding with Detroit’s Jaden Ivey. He would not return, finishing with eight points, six rebounds, four assists and two made 3-pointers.
