Travis Kelce has awkwardly claimed that he invited LeBron James onto his podcast – New Heights – in the past, after the Lakers star took to social media to ask to join him and his brother, Jason, for an episode, last week.

Speaking on the latest episode of their show on Wednesday, the Chiefs star said he didn’t ‘expect’ James to ‘call him out’ on X, formerly known as Twitter, after he and Jason claimed to be ‘the kings of northeast Ohio‘ in a previous recording.

Both, the Kelces and James, hail from ‘The Buckeye Sate’, respectively from Westlake and Akron – a 52-minute drive between both cities.

Speaking on the latest episode of the show on Wednesday, the Chiefs star, who is Taylor Swift‘s new beau, said: ‘There is no way that we haven’t sent LeBron James the invite…’

‘If we haven’t, [then] intern Brian and intern Jake are going to hear it from us,’ then said Jason.

James said earlier this week that it’s ‘crazy’ he can’t get a invite to the Kelce’s ‘fantastic show’

‘Yeah… they know who’s at the top of our list to try and get on here…they know who’s out there,’ added Travis.

‘Please we will make it happen, captain,’ he further said of a potential collaboration between him, his brother and the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in the near future.

Jason went on to list why he absolutely wants James on the show, as a guest, and what it would mean to him and Travis, considering that they admired the four-time NBA champion during their childhood days in the Midwest.

‘We grew up watching you play. We have watched you career as Cleveland and Northeast Ohio guys — all the way from St. Vincent-St. Mary ’til now so… I think it’s safe to say that it’d be an honor to talk to you,’ said the Eagles center.

‘Heck yeah,’ added Travis – a tight end for the Chiefs. ‘I remember watching… I went down to a game at Cleveland State in seventh grade to go watch LeBron James play high school basketball. He was selling out arenas, like all over northeast Ohio. He was selling so many tickets that they had to take it to a college arena.

‘[…] He went off the backboard, threw it down. I was out of my seat. I was a little kid getting excited for the new wave of what the NBA was going to look like and sure enough, he didn’t disappoint me. He kept on rising and rising…it’s been cool to follow him.’

Jason and Travis went on to tackle the topic of James previously being given the chance to carve out a career for himself in the NFL after unseen footage of ‘The King’ playing high school football was released on social media this week.

James played as a wideout for St. Vincent-St. Mary in high school in the early 2000s.  He was recruited by several DI programs, including Notre Dame, before embarking on a journey to become a professional basketball player.

In 2011, during the NBA blackout, James was offered contracts from the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys.
