Angel Reese is happy to play the “villain” role. She is used to getting hate on social media. She knew that LSU’s spicy Elite Eight showdown with Iowa would feature plenty of trash talk between herself and ultra-competitive Caitlin Clark. One thing she probably wasn’t prepared for was to be trolled by Ted Lasso.

Known for his funny and lighthearted characters in Ted Lasso and Saturday Night Live, actor Jason Sudeikis showed the unhinged fan inside him when he was shown on the LSU-Iowa broadcast trolling Angel Reese as the Tigers fell 94-87 in a rematch of the 2023 NCAA championship game.

Naturally, it involved a bit of comedy as well. He waved his hand in front of his face, doing the “you can’t see me” gesture that Reese famously dished out in front of Clark in last year’s title game.

While Jason trolled from the stands, Clark got her revenge on the court with a surgical performance. She earned a trip to the Final Four with 41 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds against Reese and the Tigers. Clark scored or assisted on 67 of Iowa’s 94 points, a remarkable 71 percent.

Iowa advances to play the winner of UConn and USC, promising another star showdown between the NCAA all-time leading scorer and either Paige Bueckers or JuJu Watkins.

In Baton Rouge, fans will hold their breath until Angel Reese decides her future. She has one year of NCAA eligibility remaining, or she could follow Clark, Stanford’s Cameron Brink and South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso into the WNBA Draft.
