Will Smith revealed that he once thought about killing his father to avenge his mother. This truth was first shared by the actor born in 1968 in his first memoir titled ‘WILL’.

In a part of his memoir exclusively published by PEOPLE, Will Smith wrote that when he was a child, he witnessed his father hit his mother hard on the side of the head, causing her to lose consciousness. Many years later, the actor had the thought of pushing his father down the stairs to avenge his mother because at that time he had cancer and had to use a wheelchair.
Will Smith describes his father, William Carroll Smith Sr. in his memoir: “My father was very violent and also an alcoholic. He was always drunk at all my movie premieres,” he wrote.
In particular, the memory of the time his father beat his mother haunted the actor for many years. “When I was 9 years old, I witnessed my father punch my mother in the side of the head, causing her to fall down and bleed. It happened in the bedroom and haunted me more than anything and also contributed to shaping who I was later on.” hey,” Will Smith wrote.
The actor added: “Whatever I do later, awards, fame, roles, smiles, all are an apology I want to convey to my mother because I didn’t do anything when I was young.” At the age of 9, I witnessed that brutal scene. The moment I was cowardly for not standing up against my father to protect my mother.”
Will Smith said from that moment on, he swore to himself that one day he would avenge his mother and that thought returned when the actor cared for his father who had terminal cancer many years later.
“One night, I pushed my dad’s wheelchair from the bedroom to the bathroom surrounded by darkness. I suddenly stopped at the top of the stairs. I could have pushed him down and it was so easy because there were dozens Years of suffering, anger mixed with indignation, but in the end I dismissed that thought and pushed the wheelchair into the bathroom.”
Will Smith’s parents divorced in 2000 and he passed away 16 years later.
