Miley Cyrus revealed her demanding work schedule as a 12-year-old Hannah Montana star

We all know how tight and hectic the work schedules are in Hollywood. Everyone in the town goes with this pattern. Meanwhile, can you imagine the same for a child actor? Miley Cyrus, who rose to fame from a very early age with her role on the Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, experienced this heavy burden.

Looking back at her early days’ work schedule, last year, the star in the twelfth edition of her Used to Be Young TikTok video series recalled all those things.

After hearing her, many fans came together to criticize Disney for exploiting child labor law and making them work on such a typical strict schedule.

Miley Cyrus Recalled Her Work Schedule When She Was 12

Last year, Miley Cyrus took to TikTok and revealed her intense work schedule that she had for Hannah Montana at just 12 years old, which included nonstop prep, interviews, and travel. She said that her day started with a 5:30 A.M. with hair and makeup session. “I was probably like 12 or 13,” Cyrus said.

“We get picked up. 7:15 — I’m on the news. 7:45 — I have another live interview. 8:15 — another interview. 8:45 — another interview. 9:30 to 11 a.m. — meeting with editors, back to the hotel. OK, I have to do an interview, but the reporters are all fifth-grade students. 1 to 2:30 — me and my dad have a lunch interview. 2:40 — we have to go to the Life magazine photoshoot. 3 to 5 — interview and photoshoot for the Father’s Day issue. Arrive at 6 p.m. for kids’ online interview, then at 6:15, we have another interview. Then the next day starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. when I fly home to probably go to Hannah [Montana] — that’s on a Saturday and then Monday be back at work in the morning…” (Via Variety)

“I’m a lot of things, but lazy ain’t one of them. So… I do think this girl deserves a little endless summer vacation,” Cyrus concluded with a laugh.

As she shed light on her days in her childhood, it gives fans some real concern as to how these child actors are made to follow the hectic work routine, saying that they need some protection.

What Fans Have to Say Regarding This?

As Cyrus spoke about how child actors were treated by big studios, it’s noteworthy that she is not the only kid from that period to reveal such things.

Miley Cyrus in a still from Hannah MontanaJenna Ortega talked on the Armchair Expert podcast about how she spent some “crazy hours” during the filming of Disney’s Stuck in the Middle. Even Stevens star Christy Carlson Romano also advocated for better protection for child actors, per Fox News (Via New York Post).

According to the US Department of Labour website, a child actor needs at least 12 hours of rest between one working day and the next day. For example, in California, a child actor whose age falls between 9 years and 16 years old is allowed to work 5-7 hours daily. And fans thus placed their concern over the matter.
