Reacher season 3 is perhaps the most highly anticipated of Alan Ritchson’s upcoming projects. This acclaimed thriller series is a massive hit for Prime Video, and might just be the most popular adaptation of Lee Child’s iconic Jack Reacher novel series to date. The consensus among fans is that Ritchson is the most accurate depiction of Child’s novel character, which likely plays a big role in its success across the show’s first two seasons.

Production on Reacher season 3 is already underway for Prime Video, and though no timetable has been given for its release, it looks likely to arrive some time in 2025. Though little clarity exists concerning Reacher season 3’s release date, Ritchson himself provided some details on the upcoming season’s story, confirming that it will adapt the seventh of Child’s Reacher novels, Persuader.

As for Reacher season 3’s cast, Maria Stern (Frances Neagley) is the only actor besides Ritchson known to be returning for season 3. The anthology style of the show means the upcoming season will have a mostly new cast, including the additions of Anthony Michael Hall as Zachary Beck, Sonya Cassidy as Susan Duffy, and Brian Tee as Quinn. More clarity on Reacher season 3’s cast and release date should arrive as production continues.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a World War II film following a top-secret combat unit who were formed by Winston Churchill to hunt down Nazis. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie and based on the book The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops by Damien Lewis.

Cast: Henry Cavill , Eiza González , Alan Ritchson , Alex Pettyfer , Hero Fiennes Tiffin , Babs Olusanmokun , Til Schweiger , Henry Golding , Cary Elwes , Henrique Zaga
Runtime: 120 Minutes

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a highly anticipated World War II movie that stars Ritchson alongside a host of other stars, including Henry Cavill, Eiza González, and Alex Pettyfer. The film is directed by Sherlock Holmes‘ Guy Ritchie, and is expected to include a significant dose of comedic relief sprinkled in among the extravagant action sequences. Between Ritchie’s directing and the star power in its cast, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is likely to draw large crowds and make a splash at the box office.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is based on a true story, detailing the efforts of a group of special operatives brought together by Winston Churchill to wreak havoc behind enemy lines through various forms of espionage and sabotage. The script will almost certainly take some significant creative liberties to help the story suit the film, but the broad strokes of the historical events depicted should be reasonably accurate.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will release on April 19, 2024. Ritchson’s role in the film will be as Anders Lassen, a member of the titular ministry who is seen more than once with a bow and arrow in the film’s trailer. Of all Ritchson’s upcoming projects, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is the one fans will have to wait the least amount of time to see.

5. The Man With The Bag — Unknown Release Date

Starring Ritchson As Vance

It’s also notable that the film has been described as an action comedy, as comedy is not what either of the movie’s stars are known for.

However, it’s worth pointing out that Ritchson’s career started out with the wildly popular comedy series, Blue Mountain State. Still, he has done little work in this genre recently, and may have to wind the clock back on his career a bit to get back in touch with that side of his acting. Schwarzenegger has even less experience in comedy, though he has displayed a good-natured sense of humor throughout his career.

The Man With the Bag is currently in the early stages of production at Amazon Studios, and considering Ritchson’s packed shooting schedule, it’s likely to be some time before this film releases. If it’s not ready by the winter holiday season of 2024, there’s a good chance The Man With the Bag won’t be released until the end of 2025, but it’s expected to begin filming later this year, so it could still be completed in time for a December 2024 release date.

Ritchson made his directorial debut with the 2021 action comedy thriller, Dark Web: Cicada 3301, and will look to continue building his reputation as a director with Bad Seeds of Loving Spring .

Ritchson will also be starring in the supernatural action thriller, Bad Seeds of Loving Spring, which he is also slated to direct and produce. Ritchson will be playing the role of someone named Isaiah, though little else is known about his character at this point. Ritchson made his directorial debut with the 2021 action comedy thriller, Dark Web: Cicada 3301, and will look to continue building his reputation as a director with Bad Seeds of Loving Spring.

The film is expected to follow the story of a gunman and a sheriff who put their differences aside and hire a bounty hunter to track down a serial killer whom they feel could be a result of their past mistakes. At this point, little else is known about the movie’s story, but it’s expected to include plenty of action and possibly some horror elements.

Bad Seeds of Loving Spring is still in pre-production, and when considering Ritchson’s already massive workload, it’s unlikely the film will be released any time soon. However, this being Ritchson’s personal project, he may be eager to start work on it as soon as possible. Even so, don’t expect to see Bad Seeds of Loving Spring any time before mid-late 2025, at the earliest.

3. War Machine — Unknown Release Date

Starring Ritchson In An As Yet Unknown Role

Though the nature Ritchson’s role has not been confirmed yet, the story is expected to center around a group of Army Rangers, and Ritchson will presumably play one of them.

Ritchson will also be starring in a yet unknown role in the upcoming Netflix sci-fi action film, War Machine. Though the nature Ritchson’s role has not been confirmed yet, the story is expected to center around a group of Army Rangers, and Ritchson will presumably play one of them. With his recent success in action roles like ReacherWar Machine seems like a good fit for Ritchson at this point.

War Machine was co-written by James Beaufort, who teamed up with the film’s director, Patrick Hughs, to put together the script. The story remains mostly under wraps at this point, but War Machine expected to follow a group of Army Rangers who find themselves in a perilous situation as they near the end of the selection process.

War Machine looks unlikely to come out any time soon based on Ritchson’s current schedule. He is currently thought to be wrapping up Reacher season 3, but it’s unclear exactly when that process will be complete. Further, he is expected to begin filming The Man With the Bag later this year, pushing War Machine even further down the line. It could be several years before this sci-fi action flick hits theaters.

2. Playdate — Unknown Release Date

Starring Ritchson As Jeff

Alan Ritchson as Thad challenging someone in Blue Mountain State

Ritchson and James should make for an interesting due in Playdate , and the film will likely rely on whatever chemistry they are able to build together as the leads.

Playdate is an upcoming action comedy that will star Ritchson and Kevin James as a pair of stay-at-home dads who become entangled in a conspiracy after Ritchson’s character turns out to be more than expected. The film will be directed by Luke Greenfield from a script by Neil Goldman, and the film notably represents another return to comedy for Ritchson after several huge action roles.

Ritchson and James should make for an interesting due in Playdate, and the film will likely rely on whatever chemistry they are able to build together as the leads. Both characters will also have sons who accompany them on their dangerous playdate, and their contributions will be critical to the film’s success as well, as they will play a big role in the chemistry of the cast.

Production on Playdate is already underway, but it remains unclear when the film will be released. Assuming everything goes smoothly in the production process, Playdate could be out as soon as early 2025, or even late 2024, though that would be a longshot. A safer estimation for Playdate‘s release would be mid-2025. As previously mentioned, Ritchson’s schedule is jam-packed and any of his projects could be in danger of delays if scheduling conflicts begin to arise.

1. Motor City — Unknown Release Date

Starring Ritchson As John Miller

It’s also expected to rely heavily on visuals, seeking to create an immersive experience for audiences that keeps them engaged throughout.

Motor City is an action thriller that will star Ritchson as John Miller, a man who sets out on a quest for revenge against the people who framed him after being released from prison. It will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov, with a script from Chad St. John. Motor City is expected to be a high-octane action thriller with plenty of riveting action sequences and a frenetic pace.

It’s also expected to rely heavily on visuals, seeking to create an immersive experience for audiences that keeps them engaged throughout. Ritchson has demonstrated his ability to lead this type of project with his work in Reacher, which bodes well for the film. It will take a magnetic performance from Ritchson to keep the audience grounded among the many explosions and fast-paced action sequences.

Motor City is still in pre-production, so it will likely be some time before the film hits theater. Indeed, it could be years before this film is completed, considering how many other commitments Ritchson has.

Even so, the script seems to be written and Bekmambetov seems to have a clear vision for the film, so once shooting begins, it shouldn’t take horribly long to complete. That being said, Motor City is still likely to be one of the last of Alan Ritchson‘s upcoming projects to be released.
