The Scottish star was seen enjoying the Six Nations on Saturday night at Sweet Afton on Brunswick Street.

Posting a photo of some staff with the Hollywood A-lister on social media, the bar and kitchen stated: “Visit from the one and only Gerard Butler who called in to watch Ireland take on England in todays Six Nations.”

The actor has been staying in Northern Ireland over recent months whilst filming here for the movie, How To Train Your Dragon.

In January, he was mobbed by fans whilst having a drink at The Harp Bar in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter.

Last month, he was pictured with former local boxer Carl Frampton when he popped into The Deer’s Head to watch the rugby.

Mr Butler has also been pictured at some of Belfast’s restaurants, including Deane’s Meat Locker and the city’s oldest Indian restaurant, Archana, on the Dublin Road.

He has also branched outside of Belfast, visiting Holywood restaurant Cleaver most recently.

The iconic restaurant shared an image of the actor in the restaurant on social media, with the caption: “Gerry knows a good balti when he sees it. A pleasure having him at Archana.”

A source said: “He is here for How To Train Your Dragon which is out in June 2025.

“With its purpose-built studios in Belfast harbour and the variety of landscapes available, Northern Ireland continues to be an attractive destination for filmmakers.”
