Nicolas Cage is the king of crazy stories, but this one is something fans should concern themselves with.

From the outside looking in, it is surprisingly easy to think of celebrities as being something other than human. After all, the vast majority of people will never know how it feels to become famous worldwide and have a massive fortune at their fingertips.

On top of that, when people hear stories about celebrities making mind-boggling dressing room demands, it is hard to imagine requiring so much special treatment.

Even though celebrities live very differently than everyone else, that doesn’t mean that it is ok for anyone to put them in danger. While that may seem obvious, the way the press and paparazzi treated Britney Spears in the past proves that people are willing to stand by when some stars are placed in peril.

Unfortunately for Nicolas Cage, the famous actor has revealed that he once felt like he was in danger because a mime was stalking him. Sadly, nobody seemed to take note of Cage’s revelation at the time and people still don’t seem to be shocked by what happened to this day.

Cage’s Legend

Over the last several years, Nicolas Cage has appeared in so many bad films that it often feels like he said yes to anyone who shows up with a script and a sizable cheque.

Despite that, Cage has had a truly amazing career that has involved starring in many fantastic films including Raising Arizona, Adaptation, The Rock, Kick-Ass, Mandy, Pig, and Willy’s Wonderland.

While it is clear that Nicolas Cage will go down in history as a celebrated actor, his unique behavior will also play a major part in his legacy. After all, Cage has been involved in so many strange incidents that there are lists covering that part of his life.

For example, it would be impossible to imagine most stars spending millions on a dinosaur skeleton only to learn it was stolen and be forced to give it up.

It also doesn’t seem likely that any other mainstream movie star will garner headlines because they spent a fortune on a haunted mansion with a deeply disturbing history. Due to those stories and many others, people often see Cage as some kind of oddity.

Seriously Dangerous

In this day and age, some people like to express how much they adore a celebrity by jokingly claiming they stalk them. In fact, it isn’t uncommon for a celebrity to state that they stalk another star as an exaggerated way of stating their admiration for them.

When statements like that are made, it doesn’t directly harm anyone involved. That said, it still may be a mistake to talk like that. After all, real stalkers are out there and to say they can be dangerous is the understatement of a lifetime.

While it is wonderful when regular people enjoy a star’s work, when that adoration turns into obsession things can quickly get out of hand. For example, there have been far too many celebrities who lost their lives to people who became obsessed with them.

For example, people like John Lennon, Rebecca Schaeffer, Gianni Versace, and Christina Grimmie all met their untimely demise due to people who were obsessed with them. While it can be debated whether or not all of the perpetrators of those[MT1] crimes could be called stalkers, it is clear that kind of behavior is no laughing matter.

Cage’s Claim

Since Nicolas Cage has given some unintentionally hilarious performances during his career and he has some strange habits, a lot of people default to laughing at his antics. However, during a 2009 Parade interview, Cage said something that may seem amusing on the surface but is anything but in real life.

During the aforementioned interview, Cage spoke about being stalked when he filmed the 1999 Martin Scorsese movie Bringing Out the Dead. “I guess it would fall into the stalker category more or less.

I was being stalked by a mime — silent but maybe deadly. Somehow, this mime would appear on the set of Bringing Out the Dead and start doing strange things. I have no idea how it got past security.” While Cage has proven to be fearless when it comes to tussling with his fellow stars in the past, he never should have been in peril on the set of a film.

Later during the same interview, Cage would state that he is “a tremendous worrier”. With that in mind, it is easy to imagine how freaked out being stalked by a mime likely made Cage feel at the time.

Fortunately, Cage revealed that the people behind Bringing Out the Dead put an end to things before anything bad could happen to the popular actor. “Finally, the producers took some action and I haven’t seen the mime since.” Still, Cage stated that the whole situation “was definitely unsettling” at the time.
