SUMMARY

Anthony Michael Hall and Sonya Cassidy will join the cast of Reacher season 3 on Prime Video.

Both stars will play new characters opposite Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher.
Anthony Michael Hall will play potentially corrupt businessman Zachary Beck and Sonya Cassidy will play DEA agent Susan Duffy.

Reacher has cast some of the new characters that will surround its hero in the upcoming season 3. The Prime Video action show, which is based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child, stars Alan Ritchson as the titular drifter with a heart of gold. Season 1 followed Reacher helping uncover a conspiracy in the fictional town of Margrave, Georgia, while season 2 (which featured an almost entirely new supporting cast) saw him work with his old military police unit to solve the murder of one of their former teammates.

Prime Video has now announced that two new cast members have been brought on for the upcoming Reacher season 3. Anthony Michael Hall will be joining the season, which is based on Child’s 2003 book Persuader, as Zachary Beck, a businessman and single father whose rug business is suspected of being a front. Hall will be joined by Sonya Cassidy as Susan Duffy, a sharp-tongued DEA agent based out of Boston.

Where You Know The New Cast Members From Reacher Season 3

Of the two new Reacher cast members, Hall has had the longer career. He first came to prominence as part of the Brat Pack in the 1980s, typically playing nerdy characters in John Hughes movies, including Weird ScienceThe Breakfast Club, and Sixteen Candles. Since then, he has taken a wider variety of roles, including playing darker characters in projects such as Halloween Ends and the shows The Dead Zone and Bosch: Legacy.

Hall played the grown-up Halloween character Tommy Doyle in 2021’s Halloween Kills , a role that had previously been played onscreen by Brian Andrews and Paul Rudd.

Cassidy has also made a name for herself as a television stalwart. Her recent credits include AMC’s Lodge 49, Showtime’s The Man Who Fell to Earth, and the historical drama The Last Kingdom, which transitioned from BBC Two to Netflix after season 2. Before that, she had made appearances on various iconic British television programs, including DoctorsInspector LewisThe Tudors, and Midsomer Murders.

After the explosive Reacher season 2 ending, season 3 will need to snag audiences’ attention right away as it kicks off its new story. With these two new cast members in tow, it seems well on its way to proving able to do so.

It remains to be seen what new or returning cast members join them as pre-production on the new season progresses, but with the new stars’ experience combined, Jack Reacher already seems to have gained both a formidable foe and a strong ally.
