Reacher, the live-action adaptation of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher book series, stars Alan as lead character Jack Reacher, a former US Army Military Police Major who now explores the US looking for jobs, but often gets drawn back into danger and crime solving once more.

Alan shared his exclusive season three on-set photo with fans via his Instagram account on Tuesday 15th January, ahead of season two’s finale airing on Prime Video on 19th January.

“Welp… we’re back,” he captioned the photo, which saw him ready for action and covered in mud. “Season 3 of Reacher… crustier than ever,” he joked.

Fans were delighted to discover the actor was already on set ready for season three, and some jumped immediately to speculating what scenes from the book series he might be about to act in.

“Calling it now: this is Alan filming the scene in “Die Trying” where he’s crawling under the ground and trying not to give into his claustrophobic fears,” speculated one person in the comments of Alan’s post. “I bet they’re doing that book for season 3!!”

“I hope so because I always thought that would make the best series,” another reader commented.

Others disagreed, however. “Nah, it’s gonna [be] the ambush in the rain in Echo Burning,” one person suggested. “Either Die Trying, Tripwire or Worth Dying For,” another person suggested. “All great books.”

Reacher fans will likely have to wait quite a while for more information on what they can expect from season three, but as ever the books are available for all to discover/revisit ahead of the next series, and Alan may tease more on his socials in the future too.

Reacher season two’s finale will be released on Prime Video on Friday, 19th January.
