The Hollywood actor spoke about what it is like to visit his mother, Margaret, in a hilarious interview with Absolute Radio.

The P.S I Love You star said his 79-year-old mum doesn’t give him special treatment at home just because he is a celebrity.

Paisley-born Butler is best known for his roles in the Olympus Has Fallen series and 300.

When asked what it is like to visit his mum, he impersonated her by saying: “‘Awk son, get in there wash the dishes you’re no a movie star to me’.”

He went on to say: “I often go out and play golf with my mum, she also loves to hike.”

When asked ‘is your mum always telling you how cheap she got certain items, like 3.99 chocolate biscuits at Aldi ?’ Butler agreed.

He said: “I get a bit of that, but you know the other thing I get, she waits till you finish your food and goes how did that taste because it has been in the fridge for two weeks and smelled a bit funny, but if you didn’t notice anything then good.

“But she never tells us that before we eat the food!”
