Miley shared a brief video of the storm with her 162 million Instagram followers.

In the clip, passengers gasp in shock as the interior of the dark jet is suddenly illuminated after lightning strikes the fuselage.

With a second photo, she gave fans a peek at the damage caused by the strike— and it appears to have taken a toll on the jet.

The Wrecking Ball singer captioned the shot with a message to anybody worried after hearing about her flight, explaining that the “plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting.” Yikes!

“My crew, band, friends, and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing,” she explained. “We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. 💔 I LOVE YOU.”

The Singer Is On The South American Leg Of Her ‘Attention’ Tour In South America Where Weather Has Also Caused Foo Fighters And Machine Gun Kelly To Cancel Performances.

The singer is currently traveling South America on her Attention tour—her first in 7 years—and previously took the stage at Lollapalooza Argentina at the San Isidro race track on March 19.

Miley was en route to Paraguay’s Asunciónico festival—which has not been held since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic—she was one of the headliners set to perform on the second day of the festival.

Organizers scrapped the first day of the event after heavy rainfall and flooding hit the city. Artists set to perform that day included Foo Fighters, Doja Cat, and Machine Gun Kelly.

Miley also took the stage for Lollapalooza Chile 2022 at Parque Bicentenario Cerrillos in Santiago, where she expressed her enthusiasm to be touring again and her admiration for Chilean culture.

She wrote: “I knew that these festivals were going to be extra special because I am so inspired by all of you and inspired by the culture, all of the color, and the tradition.

And I love … a culture that respects and honors everything that was before us.”
