In 2021, during an interview with Oprah Winfrey Stone talked about her loss as an actress.
She explained how things were not the same for her after she faced the fatal stroke. Stone told Winfrey,
“My radiance went away. It isn’t so much your beauty as your radiance.
It’s a radiance and magnetism, a presence. It comes from health and well-being and youth.
I think it comes from confidence, too. I think that when you’re in this kind of business that you’re in, they start telling you that you don’t have it anymore and you start believing it.”
Stone also discussed how she was treated while she was healing. She claimed that many mean individuals were unkind to her.
The Casino actress added that she believes very few people understand how a stroke may affect a woman and in how many ways.
