We get it, Britney. There’s something about the Spurs that draws superstar singers to their orbit.

True, Britney Spears made some Spurs noise of a different sort, following the claim that Spurs security slapped the pop celebrity after she approached new Spurs star Victor Wembanyama at a casino restaurant in Las Vegas. On Friday, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department said it had closed its investigation and no charges would be filed in this case.

The closest Spears has ever gotten to the Spurs, much less San Antonio, was back in 2000 and 2002. Those are the two times she performed at the Alamodome, which the Spurs called their home court from the 1993-94 to 2001-02 seasons.

But Spears drama aside, plenty of famous entertainers sing the Spurs praises as die-hard fans. Here are some notable vocalists who have or continue to lovingly rep the Silver & Black.

Mother Monster does love her Spurs. In 2014, the ever-inventive singer and actress posted a pic of herself with the Spurs’ championship trophy after attending a Spurs game courtside in Germany for a friendly game against Alba Berlin. Gaga also took trophy pics with Spurs notables Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker.

“The Spurs and NBA were so sweet to me last night!” she posted on Instagram. “They even let me hold their championship trophy! I felt like such a lady!”

The famous singer and “Only Murders in the Building” producer and star achieved Spurs Nation greatness in 2016, when she repped a Spurs jersey at the late Kobe Bryant’s final game in San Antonio with the Los Angeles Lakers. And just last year, the Grand Prairie native rocked a Spurs T-shirt on TikTok. Must be a family affair; her dad has the Spurs logo tattooed on his leg.

The Queen of Pop reigned over sports media in 1994 when she dated former Spurs bad boy Dennis Rodman. The relationship reportedly lasted only two months, longer than most of Rodman’s colorful hair dyes.

In 2018, the pop singer and San Antonio native took on his hometown team, sort of, for some one-on-one play at the Spurs practice facility as part of the “My Spurs Story” video series. Mahone sports a custom No. 74 Spurs jersey, which he also wore when he sang the national anthem at Game 1 of the 2014 NBA Finals against the Miami Heat.

The Scottish lead singer of Garbage is a devout Spurs fan. In addition to expressing oodles of love for Spurs great Tim Duncan, she’s called Spurs coach Gregg Popovich the greatest NBA coach of all time. “(Bleep) Phil Jackson,” she once said of the famous Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls coach at a 2016 concert in the Majestic Theatre.

The King of Country belted his share of “Go Spurs Go!” chants courtside back in the day at the Alamodome, but perhaps his most memorable rallying call was at a 2013 concert in the dome when he lead fans in the famous Spurs cheer.

Famous national anthem singers

Mahone is in good company when it comes to belting out “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a Spurs game. Other national anthem performers include San Antonio native Ally Brooke, Alamo City native and mariachi singer Sebastien De La Cruz, KISS frontmen Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, Alanis Morissette and Carrie Underwood.
