The New Orleans Saints selected quarterback Spencer Rattler with the 150th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler fell all the way to the fifth round.

As Rattler prepares for the NFL, one woman has been by his side for a lengthy period.

Let’s meet his girlfriend, Yazmina Gonzalez, who happens to be an athlete herself.

In the 2019–2020 season, Gonzalez participated in volleyball for Scottsdale Community College after playing for Pinnacle High. Like Rattler, Gonzalez attempted to contribute to her self-promotion by sharing her YouTube highlights with potential teachers. Gonzalez scored 344 kills and had 312 digs while playing near the net for the junior college team.

Her collegiate career came to a halt after Scottsdale Community College, and she would then focus on her growing popularity on social media. She has more than 18,000 Instagram followers and over 4,000 TikTok followers.

In February, Spencer Rattler participated in the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl and won the MVP award. Quarterbacks Michael Penix Jr. (Washington) and Bo Nix (Oregon) were also present in the Senior Bowl. The Atlanta Falcons selected Penix as the eighth overall pick, while the Denver Broncos, who were said to be interested in Rattler, selected Nix as the 12th pick.

Although many draft experts predicted Spencer Rattler would be selected in the second round, it appears that NFL organizations had a different opinion of him.

Teams were reportedly unsure about Rattler’s potential, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, who also brought up Rattler’s previous participation in a football reality show at the age of 17. It did not give Rattler the best of impressions.

“It is unbelievable how many different teams mentioned to me the image of him in that show and how they can’t get it out of their heads,” said Rapoport.

Spencer Rattler showed off his skills in a Netflix sports documentary series, QB1: Beyond The Lights, which focused on three senior high school quarterbacks as they played their final season before moving on to NCAA D1 college programs.
