Conor McGregor gives brutally honest take on the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight

Conor McGregor isn’t impressed with the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul match-up.

No you are not dreaming, ‘Iron Mike’ is set to return to ring against the YouTuber-come-boxer on July 20th.

The departing Jürgen Klopp faces Pep Guardiola for the final time in the Premier League in a crunch clash at Anfield this weekend.

His last fight of sorts was an exhibition against another legend in Roy Jones Jr. when they ‘sparred’ in 2020.

The youngest heavyweight champion of all-time’s last professional encounter came in 2005 in a sorry display against Kevin McBride. Jake Paul was nearly eight years old at the time.

The huge age difference has been met with disgust from former professionals and fans and Conor McGregor is as surprised as all of us that this is actually happening.

And in an interview he admitted he has low interest in the fight.

He said: “Oh jeez, it’s a bit strange, you know. My interest is low. I don’t know. I don’t understand it. I wish well for Mike [Tyson].”

It remains to be seen what rules Tyson and Paul fight under and if it’s just another money spinning exhibition. It’s hard to believe any respectable boxing commission would sanction this as a professional contest but boxing is a murky old sport at times.
