Eazy-E has been dubbed the “Godfather of Gangsta Rap” and is an originating member of a group called N***as With Attitude. So when he began trending on Twitter last night (September 1), it must’ve been because of some news regarding his accolades and/or estate right?
Nah. It was because people were — for some reason — comparing him to new-ish rapper G-Eazy for some reason. It put G-Eazy in a tough spot because he’s no gangsta rapper (he’ll tell you that) and anytime a newer rapper gets put up against a legend, the hating comes out.
“The only reason these idiots comparing G Eazy to Eazy E is cause they names are similar,” a Twitter user stated, likely naming the reason for this whole series of events. “Finding out Eazy-E is trending because people are comparing him to G Eazy may be the push I need to leave this horrible garbage site,” another said, egging on the slander.
Why we gotta do this? They’re totally different rappers with totally different music. G-Eazy’s only fault in all of this is his rap name, which actually makes sense since his real name is Gerald Earl Gillum.
