One creative player has repurposed the battle rap scene at the end of the film into the battle royale game using the original audio and a skin of Slim Shady.

Opposite Eminem stands The Falcon from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who is played by Anthony Mackie. Mackie, coincidentally, also portrayed Papa Doc in 8 Mile and was on the losing end of the rap battle.

In a typical Fortnite twist, at the end of the in-game recreation, Eminem blasts The Falcon with a gun.

The scene was well-received by both fans of the game and the rapper, with even Eminem’s longtime manager Paul Rosenberg praising it.

After a clip of the scene from the game was posted on social media, Rosenberg commented by saying: “I mean… wow!”

On Wednesday (November 29), three Eminem skins went live in Fortnite, with players able to wear outfits of the rap icon in his Slim Shady era, a Rap Boy costume and a Marshall Never More costume.

Eminem is also involved in Fortnite‘s Big Bang event, which will see the game transition to chapter five. At the event, he will perform a virtual in-game concert similar to those seen in the past from Travis Scott and Ariana Grande.

This is not Eminem’s first appearance in a video game. His likeness and voice was used in 50 Cent: Bulletproof in 2005 with the rapper portraying a crooked cop.

The Detroit native also contributed original music to Grand Theft Auto V as part of the DLC pack, The Contract, which centered around his good friend and collaborator Dr. Dre.

Eminem also reportedly nearly starred in a Grand Theft Auto movie in the early 2000s, but the deal was rejected by Rockstar Games.

According to an interview with a GTA insider on Bugzy Malone’s Grandest Game podcast, Rockstar were offered $5 million to sell the film rights, with the movie to be directed by Tony Scott and starring Eminem.

However, the offer was turned down as Rockstar were not interested in selling the movie rights.
