Hip-hop legends N.W.A will bring their inter-generational show exclusively to Perth on Australia Day long weekend in a major coup for WA’s music scene.
Re-igniting popularity in 2015 with the release of biopic Straight Outta Compton, which chronicled the group’s origin story, 2024’s show will feature a mix of original members and special guests.
DJ Yella, a founding member of the group will join forces with Lil Eazy-E, the son of the iconic Eazy-E, plus New York-based performer M.I.M.S, to form a truly transcendent nostalgic showcase for rap fans.
The group promises to transport the rap anthems of yesteryear from the West Coast to the West Coast, with DJ Yella dropping the classic sounds of Compton into Perth’s Metro City precinct.
The founding member shared the booking to worldwide fans on Instagram, with some shocked the group would fly to Perth but not their much closer North American cities.
“How does Australia get these good shows and not Philly? I don’t get it,” one user shared.
An East Coast-based fan asked, “Will you be coming to Sydney?”
Following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Lil Eazy-E is set to add a contemporary twist to beloved classics as he bridges the gap between the golden era of hip-hop and the present.
N.W.A originally formed in 1987, with notable artists Dr.Dre and Ice Cube also joining the group — which launched its debut album Straight Outta Compton in 1988.

The film which releases in U.S. theaters on Aug. 14, captures the rise and rupture of N.W.A., the group credited with starting gangster rap and inspiring warning labels on album covers for its provocative, incendiary lyrics. Local fans have the option of purchasing general admission tickets for $59.95 to the 18+ event, or a VIP Baller Booth for $1800 that includes 10 x VIP tickets and 4 x premium bottles of a selection of spirits.
The January 27 show at Metro City is the only planned appearance in Australia for the group at this stage.
The Straight Outta Compton – West Coast Tour Perth is presented by IEBF Events, with all proceeds going to IEBF Aboriginal Corporation Charity.
Tickets are available now through Megatix.
