Jeezy has announced plans to unleash a new album, marking his first full-length release since leaving Def Jam.

The Grammy-nominated rap veteran had been signed to the legendary label for the majority of his career, but he has now switched gears and put together a deeply personal package in partnership with CTE New World and Stem Distribution.
Titled I Might Forgive…But I Don’t Forget, Jeezy’s new double album is scheduled to arrive on Friday (November 3). The first half of the 29-track project features production from heavy hitters like ATL Jacob, Ricky Polo, Cubeatz and Hendrix.
The second disc, meanwhile, is soundtracked entirely by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, the production team responsible for some of the Snowman’s biggest songs including “Bury Me a G,” “Word Play” and “F.A.M.E.”
“As you work on the album, y’know, you start talking about life, talking about music, experience and all that,” J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League’s Erik “Rook” Ortiz told HipHopDX. “So it just became more songs and more songs and more songs, and then one day, [Jeezy] was like, ‘Y’know what? This gon’ be a double album.’”
He added: “[The album is] very mature. He opens up about a lot of subjects — some things people might be curious about or never even knew about him. It’s very meticulously put together.”
According to a press release, I Might Forgive…But I Don’t Forget finds Jeezy reflecting on the hardships of his life, including all the baggage he has carried through years of struggle and success.
As explored in his bestselling memoir, Adversity For Sale, the 46-year-old has come to terms with therapy being necessary to his progress as he continues to thrive in the music business.
Illustrating his growth, the Atlanta native recently revealed that he used to suffer from depression and didn’t even realize it as his condition went undiagnosed for nearly a decade.
“I learned that vulnerability is power,” he said on The Tamron Hall Show. “I thought something was wrong with me, thinking I come from poverty, this is just how it is. I didn’t understand trauma and all these different things so when I started to get the words for it, I started to understand and grab tools, [and] I started to become better.
“I started my journey and that’s why I’m expressing it and putting it in the book because I didn’t know I was depressed for like eight years of my life straight.”
