Mike Tyson apologizes for the death of famous rapper Tupac

Mike Tyson and Tupac Shakur were good friends before the famous rapper was shot dead on September 7, 1996, just hours after Tyson and Bruce Seldon’s fight in Las Vegas.

Mike Tyson has admitted that he felt guilty over Tupac Shakur’s death after forcing the rapper to watch him compete in Las Vegas. The youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history revealed that he urged Tupac to go to the MGM Grand Arena on September 7, 1996 to watch the fight with Bruce Seldon.

In this match, Mike “Steel” easily defeated his opponent in the first round. However, just a few hours after Tyson won, his close friend was also killed in a shooting while attending a show at Club 662.

The American music icon was shot dead while sitting in a black BMW with rap mogul Suge Knight. 24 years since the tragic shooting , Tyson revealed that he also had a date with Tupac at Club 662 that day but in the end he stayed home to take care of his newborn child.

In a VladTV interview, former world champion boxer Zab Judah asked “Steel” Mike how he felt when Tupac was murdered. Tyson replied: “It was a really bad day. I felt guilty that I was the one who urged him to come to Las Vegas to watch me compete. That night, I had an appointment with him to go to Club 662 together. But because my wife had just given birth to a baby, I stayed home.”

“Someone called me that night and told me what happened. It’s the same as what happened in my world , it’s also a part of my world. But I didn’t expect that it would happen to Tupac, who was attached to me. I have seen many people injured or shot dead , even crazier things than that, but when it happened to him I felt really sorry,” Mike Tyson added.
