When she first started her career, Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra was once made a rude proposition by a Bollywood director while filming. She called it an “inhumane moment.”

In an interview on The Zoe Report on May 23, Priyanka Chopra revealed an uncomfortable situation with an unnamed Bollywood filmmaker during the early years of her acting career.

“Maybe in 2002 or 2003. I play a secret agent who has to seduce a guy – that’s what girls do when they go undercover. During the scene of seducing men, I was asked to take off every piece of clothing. I wanted to wear more clothes on but the director said, ‘No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise, why should people watch this movie?’. He didn’t say that to me but to the stylist in front of me. It was an inhumane moment. I feel like I am nothing but how I am being used, my art is not important and what I contribute is not important,” said the actress born in 1982.

The Citadel star said the rude request made her decide to abandon the project two days later. Her biological father was the one who urged her to do it. Of course, the price to pay is that Priyanka pays out of pocket to compensate for the contract. “I can’t see that director’s face every day,” she said.

Previously, in a conversation with Dax Shepherd on the Armchair Expert podcast in March, the Indian beauty queen explained her reason for leaving Bollywood because she felt “cornered” by that working environment.

“They didn’t hire me to act in movies. I also often have conflicts with people. I’m not good at that game so I felt tired and I said I needed to rest,” she said.

After that, Priyanka Chopra started her music career. Even though it was only short-lived, it helped her get to Hollywood.

“Music gave me the opportunity to go to another part of the world. Even though I don’t crave movies that I don’t want to get, I force myself to join certain clubs and groups of people. It makes me stoop. Working for such a long time that I don’t feel like I want to do it. So when that music appeared, I was determined to go to America,” she added.

This turning point opened up new horizons for Chopra. Nick Jonas’s wife is given many leading roles in major projects. She left her mark with her role on the ABC hit series Quantico from 2015 to 2018. She went on to star in the films Baywatch, Matrix: Revolutions and The White Tiger . Currently, she is attracting attention with Amazon Prime’s Citadel .
