Cardi B Claims Tasha K Files for Bankruptcy While Having Hidden Foreign Accounts

Radar Online has obtained court records that purport the rapper’s lawyers have asked the judge to compel Patricia Haynes, a woman, to answer to a subpoena.

Cardi’s lawyers argue that Haynes knows details regarding offshore accounts created by Tasha K, whose legal name is Latasha Kebe, which she purportedly withheld from them when she filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

HipHopDX states that failing to reveal assets from Kebe might be considered a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 152, which outlines the penalties for anyone who “knowingly and fraudulently conceals from creditors or the United States Trustee, any property belonging to the estate of a debtor, or from a custodian, trustee, marshal, or other officer of the court charged with the control or custody of property, or, in connection with a case under title 11, from creditors or the debtor’s estate.”

Put differently, Cardi’s attorneys could potentially face further fines and a five-year federal jail sentence if they can demonstrate that Kebe concealed the entire scope of her assets from the bankruptcy court, as reported by the source.

The legal drama is the result of a defamation case that the rapper known as “Bodak Yellow” brought in 2019 against Klebe, who posted multiple videos in which she was falsely accused of being. A judge denied Klebe’s bankruptcy claim, and Cardi was given a $4 million settlement.
