EXCLUSIVE: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ mom sends message to son ahead of Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs’ path to the Super Bowl was far from a walk in the park.

With an offense that led the league in dropped passes, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes endured the most challenging statistical season of his career.

Just over a month ago, the Chiefs suffered a humiliating loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day, marking their fifth defeat in eight games. The team was even booed off the field at their own Arrowhead Stadium.

However, fast forward to the present, and the Chiefs find themselves heading to their fourth Super Bowl appearance in the past five years, a feat that fills no one with more pride than Mahomes’ mother, Randi Martin.

After the Chiefs secured a hard-fought 17-10 victory over the Ravens, Mahomes’ mother took to Instagram to share her emotions.

She penned a heartfelt message to her son, saying, “I can literally say I can’t remember a time you didn’t have a ball in your hand or something you wanted to play catch with. Easter egg, gum ball, or even socks. I’m super proud of you, and I admire your hard work and dedication. I love you and so proud. Enjoy every moment, son.”

Randi’s post garnered over 25,000 likes, including one from Mahomes himself, who responded with two heart emojis.

While Mahomes is undeniably one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game, the past season posed significant challenges for him. At 28 years old, he exuded confidence in his offense, but they displayed consistent inconsistency throughout the year, at least until the postseason.

After the Chiefs convincingly defeated the Miami Dolphins 26-7 in the Wild Card round, doubts lingered about Mahomes’ ability to perform on the road in the playoffs.

However, Mahomes and his team traveled to Highmark Stadium and pulled off a thrilling 27-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional round.
