Actor Jason Momoa will be next seen in the sequel to his billion-dollar superhero film, the James Wan-directed Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The actor will probably be seen as the DC superhero for the last time as the franchise is all set to undergo a reboot orchestrated by DCU chief James Gunn.

The actor made his debut in the franchise in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and had a more full-fledged role in the team-up film Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Momoa once recounted the story of how he had to be shirtless while standing in ice-cold water while filming in Iceland in the winter.

Actor Jason Momoa was first seen as Arthur Curry a.k.a Aquaman in the film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Cast by Zack Snyder, the actor only appeared in one scene in the film, but was teased to have a larger role in the DC team-up film Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

In the film, he is recruited by Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne to team up against Steppenwolf, who is threatening to destroy the world after he gets access to the precious ‘Mother Boxes’. The scene where he approaches Momoa’s Aquaman is set in Iceland and features the Hawaiian national standing shirtless in the cold waters.

Talking about the experience of filming the scene on The Graham Norton Show, Jason Momoa said,
“It’s cold. I know it does not look like it, but it was cold…I was out there for a while. They have a very thin wet suit that you put on so that you don’t freeze to death.”
The actor mentioned that despite all the precautions, he had a terrifying moment with the cold water due to his own juvenile behavior.

While filming Zack Snyder’s Justice League, actor Jason Momoa reportedly got the cold water treatment. As mentioned, Momoa was standing in the freezing waters of Iceland while filming and was wearing a thin, wet suit. However, as he walked out, the air trapped in his suit started coming out in the form of bubbles, which the actor found quite hilarious. But this juvenile behavior ultimately led to him making a decision that caused instant regret for the actor.

He mentioned the incident on the British talk show,
“They had a nice crane shot in front of me and I was walking out…I started giggling because the bubbles went up [the surface of the water]. And then, I open it [the pants] up to let the air out, and then all the cold [water] went in…So, just, many emotions went through me.”
Jason Momoa went on to reprise his role in his solo film Aquaman, which was a global box-office success, earning over $1.15 billion against a $200 million budget. The sequel to the film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released on December 22, 2023.

Aquaman is currently streaming on Max.
