Just what the doctor ordered! Sofia Vergara dons figure-hugging LBD to support beau Nick Loeb as he pulls out of run for US Senate over crash injuries

He announced that he is pulling out of running for the U.S. senate because of lingering injuries from a car crash.

But while Nick Loeb had to reveal his difficult decision at a press conference in Miami earlier today there is no doubt his gorgeous girlfriend will have cheered him up.

Columbian bombshell Sofia Vergara, 39, donned a figure-hugging little black dress for the occasion which hugged her famous curves and it seemed she is just what the doctor ordered to aide her beau on his way to recovery.

As well as displaying her incredible figure the frock also boasted lace detail around the bust and the sheer sight of the Modern Family actress must have made Loeb’s task a little easier.

Loeb is the son of influential diplomat John Loeb Jr, who was appointed as the country’s Danish ambassador by Ronald Reagan in 1981, before becoming the US delegate to the United Nations in 1984.

He is also grandson of one of the Lehman Brothers and a powerful businessman, previously serving as a partner in his family’s stock brokerage firm, as well being a board member of companies such as MGM.

The self-described ‘ Teddy Roosevelt Republican’ ran for the Florida state Senate in 2009, but dropped out to deal with a divorce. 

‘Sofia was wonderful. She took care of me,’ The Miami Herald quoted Loeb saying.

‘During the Emmys, after she was nominated, she didn’t go out to the parties,’ he added. ‘She came right back to the hospital and stayed with me and she stayed on a green plastic bench thing for several days. She’s been great.’

While the couple were all smiles at the press conference moments before it started the couple were seen appearing to argue over a mobile phone.

The Emmy-nominated actress is also in town to attend the fifth anniversary celebration of the non-profit group BeLive at the Ritz Carlton on South Beach.

Ms Vergara has been busy jet-setting lately, because of her gruelling work schedule. Last week, she was in Las Vegas for the Latin Grammy Awards where she presented alongside Mexican songstress Lucero and actress Zoe Zaldana.

Next up was the Hollywood premiere of Happy Feet Two, in which she is the voice of the character Carmen, a sensual penguin with a strong personality.

She has also just launched her own fashion line, which is sold in the US chain Kmart.
