Justin Timberlake fires back at Britney Spears: The war of words continues despite her apology

It seems not even a public apology is enough to heal the rift between Britney Spears and her former boyfriend Justin Timberlake. If anything, it has only poured more fuel onto the fire to let their bitter feud burn stronger as the pair clashed again.

The pair began dating in 1999 after emerging as two of America’s most popular singers and were together for three years before their high-profile split in 2002.

During his concert on Wednesday at Irving Plaza in New York, Timberlake openly used a profanity when addressing the crowd.

“I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f***ing no one,” the singer said.

His comments came just before he performed his hit song ‘Cry Me a River’ were played, in which he recounts the infidelity he suffered from Spears during their courtship.

This has been interpreted by the public and fans as another direct swipe in Spears‘ direction. The ‘Toxic’ singer felt compelled to apologize in a post on her Instagram for what she wrote in her memoir ‘The Woman in Me’, which was published in October 2023.

“I want to apologize for some of the things I wrote in my book. If I offended anyone I care about, I’m very sorry,” Spears explained.

In her autobiography, Britney not only recounts her rise to stardom and her professional career, but the singer also discusses her love life. In particular, she shines a light on her relationship with Timberlake when they were both at the peak of their careers.
