Clearly eager to break free from her fictional alter-ego, Miley spent a leisurely day at the luxurious Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach, taking a break after wrapping up her successful Wonder World world tour.

Curiously, she seemed to be recounting the details of the design to her friend, animatedly gesturing towards it after being photographed. Legally speaking, Miley shouldn’t even have a tattoo as she is still under 18, which is the minimum age required to get inked in the United States.

According to a fan’s recent blog post, it was speculated that her tattoo served as a heartfelt tribute to a young girl named Vanessa, who sadly lost her battle with cystic fibrosis in 2007. During her time at a hospital in Los Angeles, Cyrus formed an instantaneous bond with Vanessa and considered her to be one of her closest companions.
