The flick Real Steel scored the number-one spot at the box office when it premiered in 2011

It features X-Men star Hugh – who recently separated from his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness – as a former boxer who gets thrown together with his young son as they turn a junkyard robot into a world-class contender.

The film brought in a whopping $299.3 million globally.

It clinched the number-one spot against other films that hit theaters at the time – including The Ides Of March, Dolphin Tale, and Moneyball.

In the film, boxers are replaced by giant robots – and when the struggling athlete rebuilds a discarded robot, he finds a winner.

Although the flick received a 60 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes, fans loved it, despite critical response.

And 12 years later, not much has changed.

Fans have once again watched the flick, causing it to soar to the top of the charts.
