Nicki Minaj heading to the Algarve

Rapper Nicki Minaj will headline the Afro Nation festival, which will take place at the end of June in Portimão.

Known as the “queen of rap”, Minaj joins names like Remo, Asake, Ninho and J Hus.

In November, the Afro Nation organisers revealed the first names in the line-up, including Remo, Asake, Ninho, J Hus, Omah Lay, Flavour, Tyla and The Composers.

Last year, the event brought together more than 40,000 people who attended concerts by Burna Boy, Little Simz, Wizkid, 50 Cent, Booba and Davido in Portimão, in the district of Faro.

In the first edition, in 2019, Afro Nation welcomed more than 25,000 people, mainly from the United Kingdom. In 2020 and 2021, the festival did not take place due to restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
