AFox Sports pundit has declared that Patrick Mahomes has been lucky to make the Pro Bowl NFL team as the Kansas City Chiefs‘ quarterback continues to struggle for form at the Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs are 10-6 for the season and only clinched the AFC West in Week 17, in what has widely been attributed to poor receivers for Andy Reid‘s footballers, with only Rashee Rice showing any promise at the moment.

Naturally, having targets unable to consistently find space or consistently catch the ball will have a knock on effect on the man throwing the ball, in this case that is Mahomes, who has attracted criticism for his perceived inability to drag the Chiefs offense through games.

Rob Parker becomes the latest voice to criticise Mahomes‘ pick for the Pro Bowl, declaring that he has simply been too inconsistent to merit a spot.

Patrick Mahomes should not have made it into the Pro Bowl,” Parker said on The Odd Couple to Chris Broussard. “He has not been an All-Pro all year!”

Whilst Parker‘s co-host was a lot more sympathetic to the two-time Super Bowl champion and said that despite his form, he did manage to win his division which is something rival QBs didn’t.

“Listen between Mahomes and Allen they both have 10-6 record,” Broussard said to Parker on the same podcast. “But Mahomes team won their division and locked into the playoffs!”

Which other QBs made the Pro Bowl team?

Mahomes is in the Pro Bowl for the sixth straight season, but who else is joining him and what exactly is the Pro Bowl?

The Pro Bowl is the National Football League’s (NFL) all-star game, typically played annually at the end of the regular season.

It pits the best players from the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC) competing against each other.

A total of six quarterbacks were selected in the end including Mahomes, Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers), Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys), Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams), Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins) and Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Chiefs).

Some QBs will feel hard done by, such as CJ Stroud, Jordan Love, Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen, who all had good seasons but missed out.
