Janice Freeman joined The Voice season 13 in 2017. She was impressed by her powerful, strong and emotional voice. Her Radioactive performance in the blind round attracted two judges, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson, but she chose to join Cyrus’ team.

After becoming a student, Freeman was also quite attached to Cyrus. This relationship continued after she left the show, when Cyrus helped Freeman pay rent for 6 months, when she was seriously ill and her family was facing difficulties. Freeman praised Cyrus, calling the female coach “a true friend.”

In addition, Freeman’s family and friends sent their thanks for the messages, calls, and prayers for the singer, and also asked for their privacy to be respected.
