Kylie Jenner blocked Selena Gomez from speaking to Timothee Chalamet at the Golden Globes because the reality star is ‘heavily protective’ of her romance with the Wonka star, and fears other women want to break them up, according to insiders.
The awkward moment became public knowledge when Only Murders In The Building actress Selena, 31, went viral over her alleged debrief with friends Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry about the interaction – which was caught on camera during Sunday night’s ceremony.
‘Kylie doesn’t feel threatened by her, but she is heavily protective over her relationship with Timothee,’ a source told DailyMail.com exclusively.

The insider also confirmed that Selena simply wished to congratulate her former co-star, 28, on his nomination for Wonka when she approached the couple.
‘Selena went up to him to simply congratulate him on his nominations and tell him how much she loved his latest film,’ the insider explained. ‘She is genuinely proud of how far he’s come.’
While filming the production in 2017, the pair sparked romance rumors as fans went wild over images of them locking lips in NYC.
It was eventually revealed that the kiss was for the movie, in which they played lovebirds.
The pair hung out publicly while filming and even took part in Instagram Lives – including one in which they encouraged their followers to vote during the 2020 presidential election.
Selena has since attempted to shut down speculation, claiming she was in fact gossiping about ‘two friends that hooked up.’
‘Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone business.’ she wrote on social media.
On Monday night, Timothee also attempted to downplay any rumors of a feud as he insisted to TMZ that Kylie and Selena are ‘cool’ and that his girlfriend had not snubbed his former costar.
