Time is a healer: Selena Gomez treats herself to fast-food feast on first outing since mother’s miscarriage

She has suffered a tough Christmas, losing her unborn sister following her mother’s miscarriage.

But Selena Gomez, 19, was smiling again yesterday as shordered a fast-food feast at a McDonald’s drive-thru branch in LA, before chomping her chips before even leaving the parking lot.

It is one of the first sightings of the Disney princess since the family tragedy in December.

Last month, Selena revealed her sister’s name, tweeting: ‘Belated Merry Christmas everybody. I can’t thank you enough for your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate every one of you. I love you all…

‘Love, Me, Momma, Brian and our guardian angel Scarlett. God bless.’

But The Wizard Of Waverly Place actress seemed to be in relatively high spirits as she showed off her multi-tasking skills by chattering on her phone while filling up her car with petrol.

She looked typically stylish with her sleek dark locks, faded grey fitted jeans and black patent wedge heels, teaming them with plenty of bling and a loose white shirt that tied at the midriff.

Despite the personal tragedy, Selena and her band The Scene are set to perform at her 2nd Annual Charity Concert on January 20 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood.

She was busy tweeting about the event yesterday, saying: ‘Have some surprise guests lined up for the UNICEF charity show… can’t wait to share them with you.’

Gomez, who has been a UNICEF Ambassador since 2009, said: ‘Giving back is important to me.

‘This concert allows me to connect with my fans in person which is one of the best parts of my job and to raise money for important causes at the same time. I can’t think of anything I’d enjoy more.’

Kind-hearted Selena has also written an open-letter to her friend Demi Lovato, following the Camp Rock star’s troubles with self-harm and an eating disorder that led to a stint in rehab in late 2010.
