Deadpool and Wolverine jumping through a portal in Deadpool & Wolverine's first trailer

Deadpool & Wolverine will reportedly be going back to prior Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Deadpool & Wolverine‘s multiverse story will see the TVA from Loki recruit Ryan Reynolds’ Merc With a Mouth, bringing him from the Fox X-Men universe to the MCU. While it should be exciting to see Reynolds’ Deadpool and a mysterious version of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the MCU, the characters could be going a step beyond expectations, having a sort of victory lap through the franchise as a new reveal suggests.

According to a description shared by Zazzle (via DeadpoolUpdate/Twitter), Deadpool & Wolverine will revisit fan-favorite moments from the MCU’s Phases 1-4.

The description has since been removed, replaced simply with “Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine” delivers the ultimate team-up throwdown, only in theaters July 26.” There are many exciting cameos rumored for the film, and the new tease makes some of the fans’ wildest dreams for Deadpool & Wolverine‘s cast seem more likely. There are some perfect MCU Phase 1-4 movies for Deadpool and Wolverine to go back to.

What MCU Movies Could Deadpool & Wolverine Revisit?

Fans have been asking for Reynolds’ Deadpool and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to share the screen for quite some time. Based on the new Deadpool & Wolverine description, the movie could finally see that happen, but with a twist. Reynolds’ Deadpool could meet all three live-action movie Spider-Men. Deadpool could revisit Spider-Man: No Way Home, teaming up with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Holland’s versions of Spider-Men against villains like Doc Ock and Green Goblin for a quick rewrite of MCU history.

One of the most influential superhero movies ever, 2012’s The Avengers is a very likely candidate for one of the MCU movies Deadpool & Wolverine could explore. There are a couple of ways for how that could work, and both would be hilarious. The first one is Deadpool inserting himself into The Avengers‘ iconic team shot. The other would come perhaps in Deadpool & Wolverine‘s post-credits scene, with Reynold’s Wade Wilson and Jackman’s Wolverine crashing the Avengers’ shawarma lunch.

Other movies would also make for fun moments in the film. Wolverine and Captain America’s World War II history from Marvel Comics could be explored through Captain America: The First Avenger. Another exciting Wolverine interaction with an Avenger could come in a return to The Incredible Hulk, with Wolverine and the Hulk finally fighting in live-action. Deadpool and Wolverine also using a portal seen in the movie’s trailer to arrive in Avengers: Endgame‘s final battle would make for a major moment that should lead to an enormous box office run for Deadpool & Wolverine.
