Taylor Swift allegedly recorded a vault track with ex Matty Healy for 1989 (Taylor’s Version) – before scrapping his verse after their split

Taylor Swift allegedly recorded the song Slut! with her ex-boyfriend Matty Healy for her rerecorded album 1989 (Taylor’s Version), but his verse was scrapped following their split in June of last year.

The Bad Blood hitmaker, 34 — who will attend the Golden Globes without boyfriend Travis Kelce — revisited the unreleased song during the pair’s short-lived romance last year, per The Sun.

According to the outlet, The 1975 frontman had recorded a verse for Taylor’s revived song, but it was excised from the song by the time the new version of 1989 was released in October 2023.

DailyMail.com has reached out to both Swift and Healy’s reps, but have yet to respond for comment.

Slut! was penned in 2014, around the time that both Taylor and Matty had sparked dating rumors, but the track never made it onto her 1989 album.

However, despite Healy not appearing on Slut!, Swifties have recently claimed that written lyrics accompanying the vinyl edition of the 1989 rerelease feature Matty’s missing verse, and The 1975 is also credited as a featured artist on the song.

Healy’s scrapped verse allegedly reads: ‘Days shrink into long nights now / Plus 44 on an American phone / Cat eye running her cheekbone / But it’s elegant / I tell you, “You are not a slut, you’re just relevant.”‘

Late last month, TikTok user @emmahanobrien shared a now-viral clip of her opening the vinyl and gave her followers a glimpse of the verse as well as the credit given to The 1975.

In the caption, the social media user typed out, ‘just casually unwrapping my vinyl and seeing THIS.’

Other TikTok users jumped to the comments section, with one writing, ‘honestly it did feel like a 1975 song to me so this makes total sense.’

‘Grrrr I love The 1975 and also love Taylor this is infuriating that we’ll never get this,’ one person wrote, while another added, ‘NAURRR WHAT IF HE TOOK IT BACK BC WE DIDNT LIKE HIM.’

However, one fan said, ‘THANK GOD THEY WERENT IN IT!!!!!’ while others questioned if the video was fake or real.

In May of 2023, Matty was seen attending Taylor’s Eras Tour concert in Nashville, with some of her pals also in attendance, including model Gigi Hadid.

Later that month, the pair were seen holding hands while spending time together in NYC during a short break from her tour.

At the time, a source informed People, ‘Taylor is happy. She’s very focused on her tour but is enjoying hanging out with Matty when she is off.’

The 1975 frontman attended another concert of Swift’s in her hometown of Philadelphia, and joined her father, Scott, for the festivities.

Also in May, Taylor and Matty notably were spotted exiting Electric Lady Studios together in Greenwich Village.

However, the following month in June, the singers split. ‘She had fun with him, but it was always casual. They are no longer romantically involved,’ a separate insider confirmed to People.

Back in November 2022, Matty had revealed that he had also collaborated on the Grammy winner’s Midnights album, despite previously shutting down rumors of the collaboration.

While appearing on KROQ’s Klein/Ally Show, the Somebody Else hitmaker stated, ‘We actually worked a bit on that but then the version of it never came out.’

He then came to the defense of the Love Story songstress and added, ‘It was for reasons that are not to be criticized… She’s amazing.’

Upon 1989 (Taylor’s Version) release on October 27, 2023, the re-recorded album topped charts in countries such as the US, Australia, Canada and the UK.

The album also had the biggest sales week of Swift’s career, as well as the highest vinyl sales week of the 21st century.

Following their split last year, Healy has moved on and is dating model, Gabbriette Betchel, while Taylor is notably in a relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The couple went public with their budding romance when the songstress attended the Chiefs vs. Bears game at Arrowhead Stadium back in September 2023, although the pair had begun talking months prior.

Most recently, the Blank Space hitmaker attended the Chiefs games on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve to support her boyfriend and the team.

They were seen sharing a passionate kiss while ringing in 2024 at the New Year’s bash.

On Sunday, January 7, Taylor is slated to attend the 81st Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. She’s nominated in the new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category for her Eras Tour film.

However, she will appear at the ceremony without her NFL star boyfriend, who will be in Los Angeles at the same time.

While the award show is taking place, the Chiefs will be taking on the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

After the game, Kelce will also not meet up with his girlfriend to attend glamorous afterparties, as he’s due to immediately flying back to Missouri with his team to prepare for the playoffs, according to Page Six.
