Tom Brady’s ex-teammate Rob Gronkowski picks Dak Prescott’s Cowboys to end Dallas’ Super Bowl drought this year

The playoffs are just about to begin, and it seems like Rob Gronkowski has already picked his favorite to win Super Bowl LVIII.

The former NFL tight end has joined the queue with Skip Bayless and Michael Irvin, who believe the Dallas Cowboys will end their Super Bowl drought this season after nearly three decades, as Gronkowski endorses the team.

In his recent appearance on Up & AdamsTom Brady‘s ex-teammate expressed his firm belief in the Cowboys’ ability and how far Dak Prescott had led his team. When asked who he believed could win the Super Bowl this year, Gronkowski gave his vote to Dallas.

The legendary tight end highlighted how the Cowboys haven’t lost any home games throughout this season. The team also holds the No. 2 seed in the NFC with a 12-5 season standing.

I picked them to win the Super Bowl this year. I told you, the Dallas Cowboys were going to be solid this year. They added Stephon Gilmore, who has been a tremendous help, and they also added Brandin Cooks. That's why I picked the Dallas Cowboys to win. I played with both of those players, and I know they have what it takes to go to the next level.

The Cowboys’ playoff journey will kick off with the NFC Wild Card matchup on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

This has truly been a historic season for the Cowboys, as they haven’t moved past the divisional round since 1995.

Now that they have won the NFC East round and ranked second in the conference, Dallas has also secured a home game in which they have an unbeatable record.

Fortunately for them, this year, the Cowboys wouldn’t have to face the San Francisco 49ers until the NFC championship, after which they would move to the next level, the Super Bowl. But to end their 28-year drought, the team would need to change their strategy against the 49ers.

How the Cowboys are leading with home-game advantages

Entering the playoffs, the Cowboys have a home-field advantage; they have an 8-0 record. The team is set to host the Jordan Love-led Green Bay Packers on Sunday at the AT&T Stadium.

This is the first time the Packers are going into the playoffs without their star quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.

This season, the Cowboys come off remarkably well as they secure their fourth NFC East title in the last eight seasons.

But the key highlights were how the team surpassed their divisional rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, in the last two weeks.

Moving forward with two home-game advantages, the Cowboys have a high chance of reaching the NFC championship, their last appearance dating back to 1995, the very last of their five Super Bowl titles.
